This is a site I designed in the browser and built to showcase my work as a front-end web developer. It’s actually the second version from one I built 2 years ago so I was able to keep all my weblog data (barring some tweaks for bigger images etc).
Although I will maintaining the site I still approached the EE build as I would any clients site.
I created 4 weblogs…
Work - This allows me to add in all the details about past jobs. I use Matrix and nGen file field for the image uploads and FF checkbox group where I can use to show what involvement I had in the web development process for each site (see underneath the images on the work page).
SoundCloud - I’ve been learning how to use Apple’s Logic recently to produce music so I added in this weblog so I can easily add information from the SoundCloud player so my tracks can be played from within the site.
Pages - This handles the content (including meta data) for the main pages (mainly the about page, the others are quite sparse!)
Testimonials - So I can add some of the nice things people have said about me when I (hopefully!) receive them.
It’s not a complex EE build by any means but it makes it so easy for me to keep my portfolio up to date and that’s what I need it for!
